On Thursday, February 1st, KANDU celebrated the grand opening of the Client Art Gallery. Guests were treated to a guided tour of the space, admiring numerous works of art created by KANDU clients. Many such works were created with the guidance of a group of volunteers, led by Lois Allen (pictured above, left), affectionately referred to as the Art Ladies. These generous women have sparked inspiration in clients’ imaginations for several years in the past, assisting in creative projects like holiday cards and others various arts and crafts, which were often available for sale in KANDU’s front lobby. Now, Karen Havlik, from KANDU’s Increased Support Program (pictured above, right), leads regular art projects also on display in the gallery. Visitors are encouraged to tour the gallery of client creations Monday through Friday, 8am-3:30pm, located between the banquet hall and Day Services/Memory Care.
