JANESVILLE, WI – KANDU Industries, Inc. is pleased to announce tickets are already available for Wine Wonderland, featuring celebrity sommeliers on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 6-9 pm. Tickets are $45 per person in advance and make perfect holiday gifts and stocking stuffers. You may also purchase tickets at the door for $55.

Tickets can be purchased from any celebrity sommelier or by calling KANDU at 608-755-4123. Badger Spirits also has tickets available in their stores at 2621 Prairie Avenue, Beloit, or their new location at 1507 Center Avenue, Janesville.

Wine Wonderland will be held at the Best Events banquet facility at 1741 Adel St., Janesville. Guests will enjoy sampling various domestic and international wines, pairing wine with delicious hors d’oeuvres, all while enjoying live mellow acoustical music.  JANESVILLE, WI – KANDU Industries, Inc. presented the first Treasure Quest adventure on October 15, 2011, sending teams of two throughout Rock County. KANDU would like to thank everyone for making the event a huge success. The team Chef Bill 1, sponsored by Sheila Killion of Cakes by Sheila, took home the $2,500 grand prize.KANDU would like to thank the site sponsors, who made the challenges possible: Bass Creek Golf Course, Bud Weiser Motors, Culver’s of Newville, Harbor Recreation, Hedberg Library, Holiday Inn Express of Janesville, Janesville Bowmen, Janesville Brick & Tile, M&M Aviation, Michael’s, Papa John’s of Janesville, Skelly’s Farm Market, Telfer Park/Snapper’s Stadium, and UW-Rock County campus. Other sponsors who made the event successful were: Local Vision TV, Schuh Plumbing, American Awards and Promotions, Anytime Fitness, WJVL and WCLO, Small Business Technology Solutions, JR Media, Gazlo, and all our prize donors.

KANDU’S 2011 CULTURAL CUISINE SERIES CONCLUDES: SWITZERLAND

KANDU Industries, Inc. is hosting a Swiss Dinner event on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 6 pm as part of the Cultural Cuisine Night series. Enjoy delicious food, fabulous décor, and wonderful entertainment. Tickets are $35 per person. Seating is by reservation only. This last dinner for the year will end with the grand prize drawing for a Florida vacation. Passports for the 2012 series will be available for purchase.The dinner menu for the evening includes:

  • Gruyere cheese personal fondues
  • Gurkensalat – a cucumber salad
  • Grauberunden barley soup – a vegetable barley soup with smoked ham and beans
  • Zürcher Geschnetzeltes – seared, roasted veal chop with a creamed mushroom glaze, roasted garlic cloves with Rosti potatoes, zuchini, squash, Swiss chard, tomato, and Sbrinz cheese
  • Bunder Nusstorte – a walnut pie with honey and cream

Swiss-themed entertainment for the evening will be included.

KANDU’s mission is to create experiences that offer persons with disabilities or disadvantages the opportunity to enjoy their rights, fulfill their responsibilities, and achieve greater independence. They provide meaningful opportunities to approximately 200 clients in a variety of areas.

KANDU Hosts Refresh Leadership Live Simulcast

JANESVILLE, WI – KANDU is collaborating with Express Employment Professionals to present the Refresh Leadership Live Simulcast. Seminar participants will earn three continuing education credits at this event held Wednesday, May 18, 2011, from 8:00 to 11:30 am.Express Employment Professionals have chosen the KANDU Banquet Hall at 1741 Adel Street, Janesville, for this simulcast. Best Events will provide a light continental breakfast. The cost is $30 per person, and $20 for each additional co-worker. All proceeds will benefit KANDU Industries. This year’s live simulcast speakers will be Ken Blanchard, author, speaker, and business consultant; Peyton Manning, NFL quarterback and proven leader; and Walter Bond, former NBA player and business expert.

KANDU’s Novak Completes Weather Spotter Training

JANESVILLE, WI – Robert Novak III, IT Specialist for KANDU Industries, has completed severe weather spotter training by the National Weather Service.

Novak can now help track storms in the area and identify when the appropriate time is for KANDU clients and staff to take shelter in the event of severe weather. He will be following up with continued training with the Midwest Severe Storm Tracking and Response Center. Rusty Kapela, Warning Coordinator Meteorologist, teaches the classes that are held in Rock County during the months of March and April. Novak has been part of the staff at KANDU for four years, and has always had an interest in tracking storms.
