Rock County’s first ever dragon boat race and festival, Dragons on the Rock, is just 2 weeks away! From 9am-8pm, festival admission to the Traxler Park event is free and includes daylong access to spectate the dragon boat races, as well as live music by Bree Morgan,  Mackenzie Benish of Prone to Sorrow, Candace Griffin, and the evening ends with John Nelson and 90 Proof. Family activities will also be available throughout the day, including a kids’ land dragon boat race, bounce house and more! Guests will have a wide variety of food truck options, including Barkley’s Burgers, Brews & Dawgs, Fire & Knife BBQ, Kona Ice Truck, Lark, Little Luzon Filipino Street Food, RMN Donuts, Route 26 Hamburger Stand, Steve’s Deli Dog House, and Sweet Serendipity Treats. Gray Brewing Company and Rock County Brewing will offer local brews within the beer tent, featuring an exclusive collaborative brew developed just for Dragons on the Rock! Selections from Milton’s Timber Hill Winery will also be available under the tent.

The dragon boat race will feature teams of 21, with 20 rowers paddling to the rhythm of one drummer, all in one boat. Teams will compete in heats throughout the day to determine the top 3 champions. Races begin at 9am. The top 3 placing race winners will receive medals and recognition during an award ceremony. Team drummers will have the opportunity to compete for prizes by showing off their costumes and talents during a public drum competition.

KANDU is excited to cheer on two of our own teams, KANDU/Best Events staff and a client team! Additional teams competing include: Data Dimensions, Forward Janesville Ambassadors with Captain Lucy Beckord, Gordon Flesch Company, Hagen CPA & Marling Lumber, Gray Brewing & Rock County Brewing Co., Johnson Financial Group, Lamar, Mercyhealth, SASid, Row v.
