On Wednesday, June 20th, Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch visited KANDU to discuss the A-Team’s “My Work. My Choice,” movement. She toured the Adel Street location to see and hear why this topic is so important to KANDU and individuals with developmental disabilities. She had the opportunity to talk first hand with clients who shared their stories of why choice in workplace and service providers is so vital.
Following the tour, Barb LeDuc, Director of Opportunities, Inc., presented Lt. Gov. Kleefisch with an award from the Direct Service Provider Network. Kleefisch spoke about why Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness are imperative to all Americans, stating that work is a big part of a person’s life and happiness. She also emphasized that working is a human right that should not be restricted by the government, but instead protected and sustained.
We want to thank Lt. Governor Kleefisch for taking time to tour KANDU and learn more about “My Work. My Choice.”
