Navigator Transition Program

This program offers work skills training in a selected career strand. It has grown to include many new choices and programs based on the interests of individuals.

Choose a career strand to explore:

Forklift driver: Learn how to use a forklift safely and correctly, perform quality checks on finished product, follow safety guidelines when moving product and meet production deadlines.  

 

Dishwashing: Learn how to follow sanitation policies, wash dishes using commercial equipment, meet demands of a commercial kitchen and utilize organizational skills to maintain order in a kitchen.

Clerical: Learn how to enter data using computerized databases, use office equipment correctly, meet deadlines, keep records and perform other office tasks independently. 

Laundry: Learn how to follow sanitation policies, utilize organizational skills, discriminate between fabric types and colors and launder linens using commercial equipment.

 

Janitorial: Learn how to clean thoroughly and efficiently, use cleaning agents effectively, maintain equipment and cleaning devices and follow inspection procedures.

Prep Cook: Learn how to follow health and safety policies, follow recipes, arrange food, follow organized approaches to kitchen tasks, determine portion sizes using mathematical formulas and meet the demands of a commercial kitchen.

 

Wait Staff: Learn about prepping, planning and setting up events, reading contracts and utilizing math to count and project materials needed for events.

Event Setup and Rentals: Learn about room layout and design, reading contracts and following specifications, prioritizing, using equipment safely and utilizing math to project and measure room space.

Production Helper: Learn how to use equipment safely and correctly, perform quality checks, palletize product, assist in running production lines, meet deadlines and interpret and use information.

Material Handler: Learn how to use equipment safely and correctly, perform quality checks, weigh product, palletize product, assist in running production lines and meet production deadlines.

Personal Care Worker: Learn how to meet the personal care needs of others, detect differences in behavior among clients, execute rehabilitative care activities and lead recreational activities.

 
   

Successful participants will receive a certificate of completion and assistance in finding paid employment and/or further training in their chosen career strand.
