For the 7th consecutive year, KANDU held this renowned annual fundraising event at Diane Hendricks’ beautiful estate. Guests participated in various outdoor activities including fishing, archery, clay shooting and golf. Participants who demonstrated top skills in each sport were announced and awarded prizes that evening after dinner.
During the evening portion of this daylong event, guests enjoyed mouth-watering menu creations from local chefs competing for the honorary title of Kerry’s King of the Grill. A panel of three expert judges from Kerry chose their top three favorite dishes. Congratulations to Sarah Boyd from MacFarlane Pheasants, whose delicious pheasant sliders and slaw earned her the first place award. Jeff King from The Beloit Club won second place with his southwest stuffed pork tenderloin, and Bobby Walker, Jr. from Merrill & Houston’s Steak Joint placed third with his grilled salmon with citrus verde. In addition, guests of the event voted for their favorites to receive the People’s Choice Award. Kevin Halpin of Janesville Country Club took home this title with his sirloin flap meat.
An extravagant live auction followed dinner, along with a performance by local favorite, the PennyMaeDixon Band. The event concluded with amazing fireworks, which would rival any local Fourth of July display, along with a stunning light show.
