KANDU is proud to support National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). Held each October, NDEAM aims to educate about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. For almost 60 years, KANDU has provided job opportunities for people with disabilities throughout Rock County, consistently expanding to serve more members of our community and offer a wide range of services. Each of our programs have been developed to meet the needs of our community and services are custom tailored to each individual’s preferences and strengths.
KANDU’s Community Employment program connects with area businesses to help identify and develop local career opportunities for persons with barriers to employment. Clients receive assistance in all aspects of job preparation, development, and placement, as well as on-going support and assessments once successful community employment is achieved. Our Pre-Vocational Program assists individuals with barriers to employment in improving work skills and strengths by identifying their needs and preferences in a safe and controlled paid work environment with the supervision of caring staff. Clients experience personal empowerment and achievement as they participate in meaningful work, supporting local businesses. To fit the needs of individuals with varying employability and social skills, KANDU’s Increased Support Program offers eligible client workers the option to receive increased supervision in a more structured working environment, providing the tools necessary to function in the world of work.
