Building Confidence

Participants thrive as they learn and grow. They gain confidence in themselves as they take on new challenges and explore their community, safely and with support.

LIVIN’ & LEARNIN’

The Livin’ & Learnin’ Program encourages young people ages 14-18 to challenge themselves to try new things while building friendships and gaining greater independence. Our attentive program managers customize each participant’s learning plan to their specific goals and abilities and provide one-on-one coaching, encouragement, and support every step of the way.

Throughout the program, Livin’ and Learnin’ participants learn how to:

  • Access non-emergency police services, use a fire extinguisher, and apply basic first aid
  • Build communication skills
  • Buy a movie ticket
  • Explore new hobbies
  • Increase mobility
  • Join a club and participate in community events
  • Obtain a library card
  • Plan parties and events
  • Safely use the internet and cell phones
