KANDU Industries Launches Annual Giving Campaign to Support People with Disabilities and Older Adults

Nov 3, 2026 | News

Community contributions help sustain programs that promote independence, meaningful employment, social connections and support for families.

Milton, Wis. November 3, 2026 – KANDU Industries, a Wisconsin-based nonprofit dedicated to serving individuals with disabilities and disadvantages, has launched its 2026 Annual Giving Campaign to help sustain programs and services that provide opportunities for people with disabilities and older adults throughout southern Wisconsin.

For more than 65 years, KANDU has helped individuals develop skills, find meaningful work, build relationships and achieve greater independence. As community needs have evolved, the nonprofit has expanded its services to support people at different stages of life, including older adults experiencing memory loss and families caring for loved ones with disabilities.

Today, KANDU offers a broad range of programs, including workforce training and employment services, community-based day programs, daily living skills training, adult day services and specialized memory care, in-home support, residential services and summer respite programming for children with disabilities.

KANDU’s impact is reflected in its annual service statistics, which include approximately 200 individuals served, 360,000 hours of services, 740 community outings and 3,120 client activities. Behind these numbers are individuals developing new abilities, experiencing the satisfaction of meaningful work, building friendships and participating more fully in their communities.

“Every day, we see the difference these opportunities make in people’s lives,” said Kathy Hansen, executive director of KANDU Industries. “For one person, success might mean earning a paycheck or learning a new skill. For another, it might mean enjoying time with friends, remaining independent or having a safe, engaging place to spend the day. Our programs are designed to recognize each person’s abilities and help them achieve their individual goals.”

KANDU also plays an important role in supporting families and caregivers. Its adult day services and specialized memory care programs provide structured activities and individualized support for older adults and people with cognitive challenges while offering families respite and peace of mind. KANDU is currently the only state-certified adult day services provider in Rock County.

While government funding, program fees and service contracts help support KANDU’s operations, these revenue sources do not fully cover the cost of providing its programs and services. KANDU relies on the generosity of individuals, businesses and community partners to help bridge that funding gap and ensure people with disabilities and older adults continue to have access to meaningful opportunities, individualized support and enriching experiences.

“Community support isn’t simply an added benefit to our programs. It’s an essential part of making them possible,” said Hansen. “The generosity of our donors helps bridge the gap between available funding and the actual cost of providing quality services. Every contribution helps us continue creating opportunities that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”

Individuals and businesses interested in supporting the organization can make a tax-deductible contribution at kanduindustries.com.
