Milton, Wis. (May 1, 2026) – KANDU Industries, a Rock County, Wis.-based nonprofit that provides programs and services for people with disabilities and others who face barriers to independence is introducing a bold new chapter for one of its signature events. The 13th annual Grapes & Hops will take place on Friday, June 5, 2026, as “Grapes & Hops: The KANDU Speakeasy.”
For the first time, the event will be hosted at KANDU’s Milton facility, transforming the space into a fully immersive prohibition-era experience. Guests will enjoy interactive wine and beer tasting, a spectacular display of food, and live music from Tony Ocean & the Main Event Band, a crowd-favorite known for high-energy performances, all while stepping into the sights and sounds of the 1920s.
New this year, the event will feature a few vintage cars, adding to the authenticity and atmosphere of the evening. Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in an exciting auction featuring a variety of sought-after items and experiences, including trips to Hawaii, Disney, and destinations such as the Caribbean or Smoky Mountains, as well as a game-choice Green Bay Packers ticket package.
“We wanted to create an experience that feels both familiar and completely new,” said Kathy Hansen, executive director of KANDU Industries. “Grapes & Hops has always been about bringing people together for a great cause, and this year we’re adding a level of creativity and immersion that reflects the energy and spirit of our organization.”
Guests are encouraged to dress in theme and embrace the speakeasy atmosphere, but as with any good speakeasy, not everything may go according to plan.
“We like to keep things interesting,” Hansen added. “Let’s just say guests should be ready for an unexpected moment along the way.”
Proceeds from the event support KANDU’s mission to provide opportunities that help individuals with disabilities pursue greater independence and more meaningful lives.
